Acts of Service

This might not be a primary love language when it comes to adapting these methods for coaching. In fact, I believe a great coach should perform acts of service daily, regardless.

The first act of service we should provide is showing up to practice each day with a plan and a purpose. This takes no more energy than simply doing the best you can do for that individual day. Everyone has off days and deserves some slack, but if a coach were only providing their minimum effort on a daily basis, they would be doing themselves and their gym community a great disservice.

Other important acts of service include:

- Providing a clean and safe environment for all gymnasts and parents.

- Giving each gymnast the opportunity to feel in control and respected.

- Sacrificing extra time for the benefit of the program without expecting a thank you or reward.
